1 Year Old
That’s Right we are officially 1 year old today. We would like to thank every single customer and every single person that has shared our social media posts allowing us to reach a bigger audience. We are grateful for all the support given to us especially over the last year when so many businesses have been forced to close.
I would like to share with you our plan for the next 12 months.
Partnerships and Services
Over the next year, we shall continue building strong partnerships with other local businesses to allow us to make our offering stronger. Over the last year, we have already partnered with various businesses big and small to ensure we can provide our clients with quality services at prices they can afford. We have partnered with EE to allow us a stronger offering of remote communications for our clients. Our work with BT and 02 in offering fast reliable business broadband to clients looking to the future with new EPOS systems and to support card payments.
Over the next 12 months, we expect this to continue and we shall work tirelessly with other businesses to ensure we get the services our clients want and need at a price they can rely on.
Our New Website
Our current site is already looking a bit dated and we feel we have outgrown its current format. We are currently building our new site to allow us to promote our services better as well as increase features like being able to order Domain Names, Web Space, Email Hosting and more directly from the site. This is not only good for new customers but also our current ones. Allowing everyone to be on one central portal to upgrade/downgrade services and even to buy new ones.
Hosting Goes GREEN !
As we have mentioned previously we are working with Zero Waste Scotland, Ecologi and others to get our business to be a NET ZERO business.
We have been working with our partners over the last year to see what we can offer to allow us to meet this goal. Over the next 6 months, we plan to move all new and existing clients to new servers fully powered by renewable energy.
Our email clients will know that we are currently partnered with a 3rd Party to offer email solutions and I am pleased to announce that by Dec 2021 this will be brought back in-house and email services will be provided by us.
We shall continue working with organisations to offset our climate impact and we have been working with Ecologi for just 2 months we look forward to continuing to work with them.
So as one year is about to pass another is starting and we are excited about the new opportunities our second year in business will bring. With new services and businesses starting to return to normal there never has been a better time to invest in your businesses future and give it an upgrade with Digital Solutions from Eirmis Solutions.
Thanks
Liam @ Eirmis

2021 Could have a new Social Media network
2021 has already got off to a rocky start with further lockdowns around the world. We are spending ever more time on Social Media sharing TV programs and movies we have watched through Netflix and asking for recommendations on what next to watch. WE ARE BORED!
So to hear there is now going to be a new social media network we really mean we are getting a launch of a social media network that MANY of us will remember from the past. BEBO.
Before the days of vast Social Media Platforms, we had a simpler time of Facebook, Bebo and MySpace with Facebook coming out on top of that particular war. Bebo peaked in 2008 and has been sold multiple times since it launched in 2005. Its last owner was Amazon back in 2019. Could it be about to relaunch ???
Over the last few days, people have reported that the Bebo Homepage has appeared and suggested that it is currently in Beta mode at the moment. One surprising thing to say is that it is notifying users :
PLEASE NOTE: All old data and photos were lost many years ago and are not recoverable. Sorry.
So will it make a surprise comeback ? as of yet we don’t think we have enough information to confirm it completely.
AS WE GET MORE NEWS WE WILL BE UPDATING THIS PAGE TO BRING YOU THE LATEST ON THIS NEW/REVIVAL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM.
How we are supporting Business in 2021
Well, the new year has come but the same old issue of COVID-19 is still here. We new lockdown restrictions coming into force across Lanarkshire we have looked again at what we are doing.
Some of our clients were already in the process of having sites designed or setting up contracts for IT Support and now businesses are having to close yet again. We have come to an agreement with many of our clients with regards to web design in that we can continue to work on sites getting them just right until they feel that they can open their business again. Web Design Plans already active will have payments deferred until their business is back and trading again. For example, a business that is having to close for 2 months will have to pay NOTHING DURING THAT TIME and we will extend their contract by 2 months. Meaning that the business will not have to pay a higher monthly cost or multiple months after they reopen. Of course, this 2 months extension can be cancelled if payments are brought up to date by the time the original contract date was due to expire.
For our IT Support customers, we understand that home working will for some require more support from IT Services. These again if the business has been heavily impacted we will defer payments as we do for our Web Design Plans.
We are always on hand to Help and Support Business through these tough times. If we can’t be there to support you our clients we would be out of business so we strive to do all we can to support Potential and Existing clients in any way we can.
If you wish to discuss anything with us you can email admin@eirmis.co.uk, Visit the Client Portal or contact us on 07503 287443.
Take Care and Keep Safe!

WHAT IF ? – Facebook Shut Down
You May or May Not remember our post a few weeks ago about many businesses asking us what best suits their business. A Website or Social Media Page. Well today we have a further update on this and a bit more on the What If?
Social Media especially Facebook is a great tool for any business, and we have a few businesses contacting us telling us that websites are out of date and how they can post one ad on Facebook and it can be seen by 5k people. This is excellent to get such a lot of views on a particular article but What If Facebook shut its doors tomorrow and all content was removed? How would your business be affected?. This is something Many of these businesses had not thought about. They hadn’t even thought about the people they are targeting by being on Facebook an not on Instagram. Or not allowing users to contact them via WhatsApp.
If Social Media is your only form of internet presence your business would pretty much disappear overnight if those platforms closed. There is nothing you can do to stop a social media platform closing its doors because your business depends on it.
With an ever-increasing demand put on internet services Social media will reach a limit of visitors to their sites. Think over the last decade how many times people have reported they are leaving Facebook, deleting their account. Now they do this for reasons like data protection and privacy issues. Also, as new platforms launch, they slowly chip away at the market share of Facebook. Putting all your business on one platform is therefore risking your business in the future.
A survey completed in 2019 asked respondents what app they could least do without and for the first time Facebook slipped into second position.

If we break this information down further into age groups
https://www.smartinsights.com/social-media-marketing/facebook-losing-appeal-messenger-apps-booming/
We can see that Facebook is only the top app that they people aged 36-55 can’t live without. For some businesses this might seem fine but with the constant changing of the landscape businesses need to think now of their future business model.
Facebook user base is slowing and indeed declining in some markets around the world. Other social media platforms are taking market share from one another. Do you want your business to have to migrate to different social media platforms as your loyal customers switch hoping that they will find you on other social media channels? Or do you decide to invest in a web presence with your own website that your customers can always find online no matter what social media platform they are registered with. So, if Facebook closed down tomorrow your users will always be able to contact you and keep up to date with your business.
Many social media platforms have closed mainly down to dwindling numbers. We are not saying this will happen to Facebook but in life anything is a possibility as we have seen with previous high performers in the Social Media market such as:
- Google +
- Vine
- Tumblr
- Bebo
- MySpace
And we haven’t even got to the section of the UK Population that don’t even use Social Media at all.
According to Statista “Of the total population of the UK, 66 percent of people are Facebook users” but we can see that According to the ONS (Office for National Statistics) ”96% of households in Great Britain had internet access, up from 93% in 2019 and 57% in 2006 when comparable records began.”
This is an untapped market for your business if you are solely running from a social media platform
This is why we say that a Website is a Hub for your online presence with social media being there as your Marketing Tool.

Website or Social Media ?
Well, 2021 is almost upon us and we have been getting many questions from businesses of what they should pick for their online presence. Website or Social Media?
So, we have decided to try and explain the options a bit more here and how they should not be seen as competing systems but instead products that work together.
One way to look at it is a website being your HUB, an area for all your information to be stored and your content to flow from. Social Media channels are great Marketing Toolsallowing you to reach customers more quickly and allow them to get in touch with you.
When building your brand, it is important to buy anything you can that connects you to that brand. Hence why many businesses buy logos and put that on their business cards or their work vans. It’s a physical thing that a business owns. When building your brand on social media even though you are using your Logo and your information you are essentially renting space and a social media channel is now your landlord. They don’t really care if your business succeeds or fails, they are advertising other businesses like yours on your page anyway. You are building a page that is locked to the terms and guidelines set by someone else and those are the same guidelines and terms that if you breach can see your online presence removed overnight.
Using social media as your only online presence also limits how much you can make your brand stand out from your competitors. Social Media is not only making all their business pages look similar just with different images and information but also actively advertising other businesses on that page. How many pages have you visited that have advertised a similar company that you may wish to follow. ?
Then we have the reliability of social media channels. How often have you heard or seen someone else or another business account being hacked? Or a fake one being setup. If you type in Argos on Facebook how many different accounts do you see? Are these all owned by the official Argos page? probably not. These fake pages can and do damage brands. For your business how easy would it be for an ex-employee to set up a fake account for your business simply by adding the number 1 to the end of the page name and filling it with negative reviews and information? VERY EASILY!
Many Strong Businesses see Social Media as a Marketing Tool rather than their Hub for online presence simple because in this day in age social media networks rise and they fall. The options available are ever-changing and if Facebook shut down tomorrow it would not mean the end of business for them.
If you are interested in building your online presence, we are Eirmis Solutions can help guide you through the options and create a Taylor-made plan to suit your business needs.

Beauty By Eilidh
Welcome, https://www.beautybyeilidh.co.uk to the Eirmis Family. We have been super excited working on this project and being apart of this amazing clients journey to self-employment.
This client has worked in the beauty industry for a number of years and had decided to break-away from the pack and start her own business doing the job she loves. This client had strong ideas of what she wanted we understood this was her baby and she wanted her business to look and feel a certain way. We are glad we were able to assist her in creating a website for her business. She knew that it needed to have a booking system saving her time in receiving or returning potential clients calls to book them in. It also enabled her to keep the information to assist with Protect Scotlands – Track and Protect system.
The booking system was created so that both her and her clients had a backend system to work from through the website allowing everyone to change or cancel appointments helping eliminate no-shows.
We explained the SoLoMo marketing strategy and how we thought it could affect her business and agreed appearing on google search rankings as well as google maps would help find new clients that she wouldn’t normally have found through the usual social media channels.
We will continue to work with the client to ensure that we can give her the best service possible and she knows that by choosing Eirmis Solutions she is giving her clients a greater choice and customer service level than she ever could from social media channels alone.
If you would like a site created like this one contact us today using the contact us section of the site.
